Agricultural development

(c) Brenda Phillips
From teaching them sustainable gardening practices, to providing them with chickens, goats, pigs, cows, GBO's agricultural programs help ensure food security among the Batwa and as well provide them with alternative livelihoods. Our bee project, among others is aimed at providing them with honey, for cultural preservation they were used to prior to their eviction from the forests.
Education

(c) Brenda Phillips
Education is essential for development and one of the most powerful tools to break the circle of poverty and oppression. GBO invests in education to ensure that children acquire the knowledge and skills they need to realize their full potential, and give them hope for the future. Our educational program delivers-
-support with scholastic material to schools
-recreational and games support to schools
-looking forward to establishing and elementary school early next year!
-a feeding program to school children

Housing and resettlement program

(c) Brenda Phillips
Evicted from their forest homes, where trees, caves and in ground holes provided them shelter, the Batwa became homeless and landless. GBO has been at the forefront of providing shelter and resettlement to the Batwa. Our aim is to buy them land and encourage permanent settlement.
Human rights advocacy and research

(c) Brenda Phillips
Understanding the gross abuse of the Batwa's rights, Global Batwa Outreach has been at the forefront of fighting for their rights. Our advocacy program involves engaging local communities and opinion leaders to respecting the Batwa's human rights. We research their rights abuses and document them.
